Job Summary: As a Solar Performance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our solar energy systems. You will analyze and monitor system performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity. Your expertise will directly impact the performance and success of our solar projects. This is an onsite role in White Plains.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performance Analysis: Monitor and analyze the performance of solar energy systems, including photovoltaic (PV) arrays, inverters, and storage systems, using data analytics tools and software.

  • System Optimization: Identify performance issues, inefficiencies, and potential improvements. Develop and implement strategies to optimize system performance and energy output.

  • Data Management: Collect, interpret, and manage data from various sources, including SCADA systems, monitoring software, and field measurements.

  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to solar energy systems, collaborating with technical teams and vendors as needed.

  • Reporting: Prepare detailed performance reports, including analysis of energy production, system availability, and efficiency metrics. Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.

  • Compliance: Ensure that all solar systems comply with industry standards, regulations, and best practices. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant codes and standards.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to support the design, installation, and commissioning of solar energy systems.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., NABCEP) are a plus.

  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in solar performance engineering, renewable energy systems, or a related field.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in performance monitoring software, SCADA systems, and data analysis tools. Strong understanding of solar PV technology, system components, and performance metrics.

  • Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities and experience with data analysis, performance evaluation, and troubleshooting.

  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Teamwork: Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment, with strong interpersonal skills and a proactive approach.
